Why Raleigh?

Raleigh is one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S.—63 new residents move here every day. With that growth comes incredible opportunity for the gospel to take root in fresh ways.

Raleigh is also home to thriving college and university campuses - a space where Carole Ann & I have labored for years through Ignite Movement. Tens of thousands of students are living, learning, and forming their next chapters here—making this city a hub of energy, creativity, and influence.

We believe God is inviting us to plant a multigenerational, Spirit-led church right in the middle of a city filled with new stories, new dreams, and new needs—practicing the way of Jesus together, building relationships across generations, and seeing His kingdom come in the RDU and beyond.

Our Journey

For over a decade, Carole Ann and I have served on college campuses, helping young adults follow Jesus in community. Raleigh has been close to our hearts through years of ministry, and over time, God began to stir a new vision—not just for students, but for the city.

Over the past two years, we’ve been gathering monthly with friends—praying, worshiping, and discerning together. These gatherings have grown into discipleship bands, deep spiritual friendships, and a clear call to plant a church. Since August, we’ve been hosting Vision Gatherings, building momentum and community. Now, City Movement Church is set to launch in 2026—a Gospel-shaped, Spirit-led church for all generations in the heart of Raleigh-Durham.

Our Vision

Our vision is the prayer of Jesus (Matthew 6:10) made local—and reaching beyond: In the RDU & Beyond as it is in Heaven.

We long to see His presence shape our lives, our neighborhoods, our campuses, and the world around us.

How we are joining God in seeing this prayer fulfilled in our city and beyond is through Practicing the way of Jesus, together, our mission!

We believe God wants to bring renewal not only to churches, but to the everyday spaces where people live, work, study, and build community.

How You Can Be Part of the Story

We can’t do this alone. As we raise a team, prepare to launch, and build the foundations for City Movement Church, your partnership makes a real difference.

You can join us through:

  • Prayer - Your prayers mean more than anything. Pray with us as we build City Movement Church and believe God for renewal in the RDU and beyond.

  • Financially Support our Family – Help our family become fully funded as we plant City Movement Church. Our goal is to raise $75,000 in annual support, and you can partner with us through monthly giving or a one-time gift toward our personal support.

  • Give directly to the Church - If you prefer, you can also give directly to City Movement Church to support our ministries, gatherings, and future impact. Click here to give!

  • Encouragement & Sharing our story - Your encouragement, connections, and sharing our story with others makes a real difference. Help more people hear about what God is doing through City Movement Church.

Together, we can see revival and renewal in Raleigh—here as in heaven.
